Jo Poole

Jo Poole is a reknowned seamstress whose celebrated work includes alterations for the National Theatre and the BBC, making authentic Elizabethan accessories and costumes at Shakespeare’s Globe, producing prop costumes for the Disney Channel and the Big Breakfast, putting together outfits for Elton John’s annual balls and costume supervising and buying on numerous shows, both historical and modern.  A specialist in vintage clothing restoration and contemporary couture and tailoring techniques, she also undertakes consultation work for historic interiors, specialising in soft furnishings and period authenticity.

 

A leader in her field, Jo has lectured in Costume Supervision and Advanced Sewing Techniques on the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Stage Management and Technical Theatre Degree.  Her design experience includes designing costumes for the British Premier of Jonathan Dove’s opera The Little Green Swallow.
